Wire Runs in 5th gen.

Any suggestions for running 16ga. speaker wire through the doors. It seems pretty rough and drilling really isn't my first choice. Also, what's a good spot for running 1/0 through from the engine comp. I've seen some posts with ppl. taking apart the wheel well. ??

Right behind the molex plug (towards the front of the car) there is a small hole and grommet. Run the wire out that grommet and cut a small hole in the grommet going into the door.

Assuming you're an automatic, drill where the clutch plate is, as youre guaranteed nothing will be on the other side of the firewall. If youre a manual, I can't really describe where to drill so hopefully someone will have a pic.

If you open the door all the way and look at the jamb from the outside, you will see the grommet on the body side, and either a grommet or circular sticker-like covering for the door hole. Pop out the body-side grommet, punch out the center, and replace. Take off the sticker on the door, and replace with an appropriate rubber grommet or snap bushing. From this point, it's really very easy. All the wire run into the body will pop out inside the vehicle easily.

For the power wire, if you look just above the pedals on the carpet, you will see a diamond-shape cutout. Behind this on the firewall you will either see a grommet, or a diamond-shaped perforation on the metal. Most installers I know simply drill this out (circular, with snap-grommet installed). It's unlikely you'll hit anything in the engine bay unless you have zero finesse with a drill.
