Those FM pager security system things

You know those security systems that hook up to a FM pager that shows your car, and if anyone touches it, it shows up on the pager? ANyone have one? Who are they? Should i get one? After the 200 dollar worth of damage keying to my max, i need security, damnit!

Nick:

Pagers are not worth the money that they are. As an example: You are shopping at the mall, Your pager goes off what do you do? It will probably take you maybe what 3-4 minutes to get to your car, maybe longer. On average it takes 15-30 seconds from when your alarm goes off until it reaches your pager. If someone keyes your car your alarm probably won't go off. No alarm will protect from someone keying your car...sorry . Get a car cover if you want to protect your paint from being keyed....You can get an alarm accessory called a radar sensor and what most will do is the alarm will beep if someone is less than 1.5 feet away from your doors. It will protect the inside of your car as well as a small portion of the outside. Do you have an alarm already? You can install a hidden camera in your car if you want. I have done this sometimes in bad areas of L.A. I'm not familiar with and review it on my Eclipse TV screen in my car to see if anything happend or if I see something suspicous.

Vipers are good. I personally like the 800 series.

do they make cameras specifically for auto security--about how much are they? are they better than those stupid little PC cameras? and would it work with my Kenwood910?

A few vendors make them for rear vision use and it is available on the new Infiniti Q45. You just have to mount them somewhere in the car generally on the rear deck pointing towards the front of the vehicle and so that it is panned out so you get a wider angle of both sides of the vehicle if someone is trying to break in a wala, you caught the thief on camera!
