I am driving two HX-2e 10's. They are dual voice coil, 2ohm each. I did not think about matching the speakers to the amp. Now my 360 is pushing at 8ohms, thereby utilizing only 1/2 the available power. I can't figure out how to wire the two subs without getting a 2ohm load, i.e. 4ohms is not possible?!

So..I don't know how I would wire your 4ch amp to these two subs. Maybe I would be better of getting new subs and keeping my amp! Suggestions?

what ohm is each coil??? if 4 ohm per coils then u have a total of four 4 ohm coils...u can wire it up as one coil per channel or u can wire two coils in parallel and get 2 ohm load...so u would have two 2 ohm...bridge the amp to 2 channel...then wired each load to each channel...how's that sound???

They are dual 2 ohm VC's...so 4 ohm total per speaker.

ur options:

wire the vc in each speaker in series = 4 ohms (with two speakers u have (2) 4 ohm load).....for two channel amp

leave each voice coil as is = 2 ohms (which would give u (4) 2 ohm load).....for 4 channel amp

The answer to that is a bit complicated but in general you should notice a difference between stereo versus mono using the same amp. If the amp is unregulated and is a solid design which Rockford's all used to be then you should theoretically get 4 times the wattage out of the amp in into the sub by bridging into mono versus stereo at the same impedence. Of course if you're into any music where there is true stereo separation of the sub-bass region (classical rings a bell, but others also) then you would lose that separation by bridging to mono. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I'm always learning.
