2 Sets of Focals in, aftermarket antenna.. Results..
Here's the setup:
Focal 165K2 up front
Focal 165K rear deck (tweeters facing the cabin)
Rockford Punch 500x4 amp
Infinity Basslink self-powered/enclosed sub.
We last left the discussions with someone saying to face the rear tweeters away from the cabin b/c of the highs.
Result: After tuning the amp, I was able to have the tweeters face towards the front. They do not produce overbearing highs.
I listen to all kinds of music from Musical, Pop, Chinese, House, Reggae to 'Cash Money' and the system sounds are living it up... Crystal clear This setup allows me to hear all the highs clearly and distinquish the bass lows as well as everything in between at all volumes without any distortion (without hurting your ears).
I'm sure all I need is dynomat.. but it wouldn't be too practical since I take the car to the tracks in the spring/summer.
I went with the interior aftermarket antenna which cost around $40-45 (w/o installation fee). It was wired atop my front windshield, above my rear view mirror (next to my EZPass).
Result: So-so. I can get AM stations (sports radio etc.) and most FM stations. It's still has static, better reception when it's near a major city.
