Helping Wireing 4ohm DVC to 2ohm stable amp
I bought a new 8in speaker to replace my bose sub and have a 800watt cheap 2 ohm stable amp not sure what brand speaker but it was a good one and it big cost $110.
Anyways guy had DVC 2ohm 8's and DVC 4ohm i told him my amp was 2ohm stable and he told me i need the 4ohm so i got it but didn't understand why i shouldn't of got the 2ohm.
anyways how do i need to have it wired? way i have it now is not bridged just to one Chanel and DVC is wired together + to + and - to - but it seriously puts of ZERO bass!! and it flex's big time but no bass and will make pop noise before it even trys to bass.
guy said speaker is good for infinite baffle n said lotta BMW guys used this sub to replace their stock set up as well.

Well the dvc 4 you would wire ++ to amp+ and -- to amp- in bridged and this gives you 2 ohms. The dvc 2 would have worked too but you could not have pushed it hard because at the amp wired it would see 1 ohm. Just because a sub looks big or an amp says it puts out 800 is just looking at surface specs, if you look at the sub specs like sensitivity and learn how to read "thiele small parameters" (google it) it will say how it may perform, for example if the sub has a poor free air performance spec or poor infinite baffle spec then don't expect much good sound from it. A cheap 800 watt amp may only be putting out 100w rms and that's not that much power, so you have to look at sensitivity and other parameters for the amp also.
