need some help with electrical circuit question

trying to put in a cut-out switch on the low volt / low amp side of the starter relay but there's this odd resistor coming off the line I want to cut into. on the attached diagram, the weird resistor is marked 1 in red and where I want to put in the momentary switch is marked 2 in blue. I've done similar on other vehicles but those didn't have that resistor coming off the signal side of the relay like these 8th gen maximas have. it's kinda a bear to get in there to everything and if that side line or its' resistor are going to be problems, i'll try to figure something else. thanks in advance to anyone who can clue me in to what's going on with that weird resistor and that side line off from where I want to put the momentary switch.
