Suggestions for 1 channel amp?

I just bought an Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1 subwoofer and I'm now looking for an amp. I would like to buy an amp with 400rms. I'm looking to spend no more than $300 on it but don't know where to start looking. Can I get some suggestions of brands and models #'s to look into? Thanks,

Nathan

Like I've told u b4, the JL 250/1 will pound that sub perfectly. I have my gain at .25 and it sounds sick. That amp can be purchased for around $300.

It might cost a little more than $300 but a mtx 500d is an excellent amp. I had it pushing three tens in my 96 and it was loud. Then back of the truck moved about an inch. It has a lotttta power and is very clean. Just my 2 cents.

What do you guys think of this amplifier? Its much cheaper than the JL Audio amps and has a lot more output. Can you guys give me your opinion. Thanks

Dont be fooled by the #'s. The JL amp's put out clean power. How do you like the 12" perfect?

So are you saying that the JL amps are underrated and will put out more than the Rockford amps?

I haven't received the Infinity Perfect yet, its in the mail and I should have it by the end of next week.

Both Rockford Fosgate and JL make great amps...but from experience i'd have to say that Rockford works better under pressure.

Well the link you posted wasn't a 1 channel amp!

But I have a Rockford amp and I love it. 800.2, it's only a Punch so it's not class D...gets a little hot after I push it hard for a long time but it has never gone into protection or missed a beat so I don't care how hot it gets. Hooked up to Two Alpine DVC Type R's it BLASTS LOUD! Those are the subs I am getting soon, probably within a month. I want to put them in my bandpass box, as I really like it, but they don't reccommend bandpass for those subs. Not sure what i'm gonna do.
