I bought that kit: http://www.caswellplating.com/buffs/plasticbuffkit.htm
With this you can use your bench grinder to polish lots of different material, I've polish my 2k2 HID housing, the result is simply amazing. I was able to remove all the haze and scratches, I made those baby shine. You can also buy each product separately, but in order to do a good job you need 2 set of the loose cotton, canton flannel + white, blue compound and your set to make an incredible job.

Thank you for posting this...mine isnt as bad as yours but I cant get it totally clear either. I wet sanded all the way down to 2000 grit and then used the Scratch-X, but your right they are still not super clear. Any other suggestions since I dont have a bench grinder??

that piece of doodoo is soooo expensive! jus to clean the lens? i don't think its worth it. I went to Napa and got this spongy thing that you put on your drill and buff away the yellowness, it worked well....but its not SUPER clear, but its better than spending 130 dollars damn! that thing was only 10 bucks!

The caswell kit are use by pro's, so I understand if you only want to polish your headlight find a guy who has the kit and he'll do it for you. I bought that kit with a bunch of other compound so I can polish virtually anything, and that pay for itself.
Kbohip, if you are patient enough you can remove deep scratch, you have to understand that with deep scratch you have to buff with a cutting compound ( white ) and the faster your buffer spin the less time it's going to take to remove it. That product work beautifully, it's more costly but you'll have enough compound to buff your entire neighbourhood's headlight.

I used Mother's plastic polish on mine... Passenger side headlight was new (replacement after incident with truck tire) and drivers was old and scratched up... I applied the polish and rubbed it with cloth and it made them look almost the same... I picked up a bottle of it from eBay for $10... I find it that it works well on smaller surface scratches, if you have larger deeper scratches this may not be the right thing for you... I tried it on my fog lenses and they are quite scratched up and it made some improvement but is far from what I would like it to be...

I use Meguiar's Mirror Glaze clear plastic polish and it works wonders! I'm not sure if they still sell it because I haven't seen it in the stores since I had bought a bottle a couple of years ago. It really makes the headlights and other plastics shine.

EDIT: Maguiar's has it on their site so you can still order it. They have a vendor search but its split between "Consumer Products" and "Professional Product". The Clear Plastic Polish is concidered a "Proffesional Product" which is carried by different vendors (not Wal-Mart, Target, CrAP...etc)

This site has lame music to it, but their product is awesome. I've used it on my E430. Read the testimonials page- http://www.lensrenew.com/
