What mods are you planning to hit your 200?

well...VI and ECU, it's just so expensive and takes forever to get these. What else is there really to bolt on w/o boost or N20?

What are your current mods? If you get the MEVI you will lose torque because it no longer spikes at 3500RPM like the stock manifold. HP numbers stay about the same... maybe a bit lower but now you are making all his power higher up in the powerband.

I am waiting to see what the ECU will do for me. I am currently at 190hp/182lb.ft tq.

Just to give you an idea, this is what I started off with:

stock: 175hp/186tq
y-pipe and b-pipe: 186hp/197tq
y-pipe, b-pipe, JWT cone, MEVI: 180hp/178tq
y-pipe, b-pipe, JWT cone, MEVI, pulley: 186hp/180tq
y-pipe, b-pipe, JWT cone, MEVI, flywheel: 190hp/182tq (flywheel apparently doesn't really show up on the dyno from what I've heard)

So I don't know if 200 is a possibility... but we'll see

wow, your numbers are probably the best on the org.
Right now I have:
PR CAI
Y-pipe
B-pipe
muffler (no resonator)
UR UDP
ACT clutch
Fidanza Flywheel
I am really interested in the results of the MEVI + ECU combo. I really enjoy my midrange power so the VI will have to wait until I can afford an ECU as well. oh yeh what gear did you do your pulls in?
200 is definately more of a possibility to you than me.

Thanks Bruce. A lot of people complain that this dyno that I run at, reads low. But if those numbers of mine are "low" then that would be quite nice.

I had massive torque with the USDM (197 on the dyno, with just y and b) but now that's all gone and I am at a torqueless 182... lol... I did have one of the bigger drops especially with torque after installing the MEVI. I sent my dynos along with my ECU to JWT over 2 months ago and I'm still waiting.

197 with just y and b!! that is incredible. just one more question, what are your plans for the future? Boost?

Yes, almost 'too incredible'... I did question the dyno results. It was 186hp197tq. My stock dyno was 175hp/186tq... go figure. MEVI brought it all back to reality.

Future plans are to buy a HOUSE! haha... but if I had to go boost it would be turbo... but I don't see that happening in the near future.

When I get my JWT ECU I'll see where I'm at. The next thing I want to look into is motor internals. My motor is burning oil so I might look into getting another motor and start working on that... slowly over time.

Or just save all that money over time and get turbo! Then when I blow the motor I can get another car...

I agree that buying a house is definately the better investment over something for your car. I'm only 20 and am at the phase where I have to really start planning for my future rather than blow it all on a $5k turbo. My motor is burning oil as well. I made a post about this a few months back and it seems to be pretty common...seriously.

Very nice numbers especially that 197 torque. Did you every run the 1/4 with just the Y/B pipes?

Y/b pipe and JWT cone gave me 14.59@96.58 with a 2.298 60' (yeah barely squeaked into the 2.2x) haha

Yep mine's been burning oil too (I think I replied to your post about that) for a while now. But my compression is 175-180 across all cylinders and my track times are still strong (14.49 this weekend) so I'm not too worried about it. I make sure that I get frequent changes and top it up when it gets low.

With a hybrid/y-pipe/b-pipe/udp my 96 made 183fwhp/192fwtq. That setups best run was a 14.64@97.2mph with a 2.31 60'.

With a hybrid/y-pipe/NO B-pipe/udp/MEVI my 96 made 189fwhp/186fwtq. That setups best run was a 14.66@96.5mph with a 2.29 60'.

I'm getting ready to dyno with my JWT ECU and 2K muffler and hopefully I'll see ~195fwhp/190fwtq. With these mods and the hacked airbox, I've done 14.45@99.5mph with a 2.31 60'.

Dave, you still planning on keeping the MEVI or are you gonna experiment without it?

I saw188fwhp and 190fwtq with my popcharger, MEVI, Y-pipe, high flow cat, and obx exhaust. I will soon have a UR flywheel, JWT ecu, and a UDP. Hopefully I will see over 200 fwhp, but we'll see. I have also rebuilt the engine since the last dyno. Hopefully this will help also (MEVI screw fell out and blew my engine last april).

What did you have to rebuild? Where did you get the parts from?

I am curious to see what effect the UDP would have for you. When are you getting that done? You should dyno (if possible... if you can afford it) after UDP and then after flywheel separately.

It seems like I gained about 10hp with UDP and flywheel, to bring me up to 190hp... however you are already at 188hp so I wonder if it would have the same effect for you. I only have 182lb.ft tq after all that though. I had 197lb/ft tq (as stated above) with the usm and only y and b pipe.

Have you run at the track yet?

My MEVI lost a screw from the butterfly valve and it got smashed in between my piston and head. I got most of my parts from the dealership. I am also putting in Jim Wolf valve springs and a toga high volume oil pump. Unfortunately I couldn't afford forged pistons and rods so I had to go with stock pistons.

I will dyno as soon as my engine is broken in. I am expecting this to be in early january. I have a before the flywheel dyno but the after won't be a true comparison because the motor will be rebuilt after the flywheel is in. I will probably do a before and after of my UDP as well. I will post all the dynos of my car when I finish the rebuild.

That sucks that you lost so much torque. I only lost about 8 lb ft from the MEVI. I guess I was lucky. I will try to post the before and after dyno soon.

I ran at the track when my car was stock a year ago. I did a 16.1 @ 86mph and this was at 4500 feet with a horrible 60 foot. Unfortunately I blew my engine before the track opened this year so I haven't been since my mods were installed.

Jim Wolf valve springs eh? If they ever return my ECU I will consider buying something else from them! haha... it's been almost 3 months now ... GRRR (I'm pretty sure this is the 11th week since I sent it in).

What's the volume of the fuel pump? Why did you steer away from the Walboro that everyone else seems to like?

Lastly, what pistons and rods were you considering? Higher compression pistons I assume...

The toga is a high flow oil pump, not a fuel pump. Have you tried calling Jim Wolf yet? That is a really long time to wait!

I wanted to get arias pistons and eagle rods. I wanted higher compression pistons. Probably 11:1 but I was going to ask arias what they would suggest. I didn't have enough money though so I went with stock oversize pistons
