I take it you haven't dealt with him before. Plus, comparing a revup lower to anything is a bit stupid since the revup lower is known to suck horribly on anything but a 8500 RPM+ race car with a target powerband above 7k and peak above 7500.

Very nice gains on the manifold. Not only throughout the band, but 50whp at redline. That's nuts.

Aren't you glad you did it yourself? When people ask what manifold you have you can just say "the Sparks special "

When people were asking me at the track, I just told them "oh that thing? It's nothing... I just made it in my garage."

I am along with a friend. And yes, it is a nightmare. Especially the rear bank and especially since I'm also doing valvesprings. May be picking up an extra set of heads and doing it on those off the car along with some minor casting flaw cleaning, not sure yet.

Have a lot of stuff to install and do. Tearing the engine apart does not seem too fun to me.

Think I'll have to pass on the spare heads, but will still buy that extra LIM and the VCs!

Going to port out that LIM to match some round runners when I make a fully custom UIM...

ya i figured u was gonna make the lower flow better!! NICE

It would be cheaper to just do the cams for sure, so unless you really wanted to port and rework a set of heads that way would be better. Otherwise not really worth it. Im sure someone will want 3.5 heads. I gotta get pics tho.

Yeah I'm going to use that lower to round out the runners near the UIM then taper them back to the original shape by the fuel injectors. That way I can make a custom UIM with round runners... can just use properly sized pipe that way.

I don't trust myself to port heads yet, especially heads that flow so well stock already.

This is really great stuff, after seeing the first dyno pic I loved the torque curve. But seeing that tq stay the same with your new manifold design is even better. Maybe I can finally be a fan of ssim

You guys will probably want the next one more, and it will be easier to reproduce This one was more an experiment in elbow diameter and plenum size while retaining stock runners to see gains to be had. Now I can make one with shorter/fatter runners to actually move the peak and see that top end continue to climb.

Well for noncammed and stock rev limiter, the current setup is best... However, I can make the runner length/diameter the same on a full custom UIM and get even better results because of even port spacing and venturis. It will cost more in parts, but be much less labor. Welding cast aluminum sucks. It really really sucks. Way too much grinding, sanding, and polishing.

We'll have to see how the next version does first.

If it goes as I plan there won't be any huge 180 degree bends in the elbow, 90 degree bends in the runners, everything will be pretty and shiny, and you might even be able to get to all 6 spark plugs without taking it off...

If the new one makes more power I dont care sell me the one u have now even if its ugly I really don care IT MAKES POWER thats what I care and I dont have any way to raise the rev limiter and dont plan on installing cams either so yours now suit better ...

If you don't plan on raising ur revs then just stick to a SSIM as this wouldn't do ya much justice... and you do have a way to raise revs... its called a UTEC......

This dyno is with a 7200 RPM rev limiter, friend... When I make the new one and if I like the powerband better than this one, it will go up for sale.

+1, just about any IM like a SSIM or this one needs to get past the stock limiter to be most advantageous.

I think there are still some areas on the other end of the engine that could use improvement. My setup on the 3.0 was, cutoff old collector and add a 2.5" collector into 2.5" y-pipe that ran into a 3" collector all the way back. That really put a nice little kick in my 3.0.
