I believe you can use the hose leading to the PCV valve from what I read somewhere.

Alrighty gonna post my positive experience with seafoam. I put half a can through the brake booster, id say it took about 2 minutes, i sucked it in enough to keep the engine from dying, but constant for the most part. finished up, shut the car off, reconnected hose. Yada yada yada, i come back 20 minutes later, take her for a "spirited" drive. Driving normally i managed to smoke up my entire street. Always a pleasure for the cop that lives next door . It ended up smoking for a good 10 minutes, in very small amounts near the end.) Then i idled at the car wash ( after filling up with gas, turn engine off, kthx 4th gen) for about 20 minutes. Came back home, and since then ive noticed acceleration and deceleration are smoother, It cleared up my EGR hi/lo flow code, and my mileage might have improved, too early to tell. All in all, besides the minor inconvenience and sure pollution that it causes, Seafoam worked out very well for me. for seafoam.

Yeah, if I've gone a good long while without seafoam and then use it I always notice a difference.

Is there any need to use Seafoam if your car is already running great?

My car was running fine when I used it... I just got bored one day.

Just Seafoamed my Max

Just did the Seafoam to my car. Half through brake booster line and half in tank. Took car out for a spirited ride and it seemed to be smoother on take off. Before it would hesitate at take off. Didn't get much smoke from it though. On start up after sucking it up (and waiting) I got like a puff of smoke and could smell it but not where it created a cloud of smoke. I must've had a fairly clean engine. Going to try oil change next. BTW paid $5 a can-which I didn't find too bad--esp. since Techron is about the same.

Until the cows come home.

Seriously, though, no smoke is a good thing. It means your engine is fairly clean. But, if you want an idea of time, then let it sit for 15-20 minutes.

Actually, it's Deep Creep, the sprayable version of Seafoam.

I did mine for the first time yesterday and got no smoke at all. I put about 1/3 to 1/2 of the can through the break booster line. Let it sit for about 15-20 minutes, then turned it back on. Car sputtered like it wanted to stall so I gave it gas until it stabalized. Had a rough idle for a bit, took it for a ride then was fine. It *seems* better, but it could be all mental.

My car is an '03 with 86k on it. I can't believe it didn't smoke at all. I guess that means that all the smoke isn't the sea foam just burning off. I was expecting this grand showing of smoke, but didn't get anything.

Should I be worried that nothing came out from an engine that high in mileage? I mean my engine can't be that clean, can it? I have been using synthetic high mileage oil for over a year now, that might be why it's clean.

I poured it into the wrong hose. I did it again yesterday, (the right way) and got smoke for a few blocks. I drove a couple of miles until it went away, but my butt dyno feels a little bit of increase in throttle response. I waited 10 minutes.

The first time, I put it into the hose connected to the big circular thing. For some reason, that made the engine sputter, but gave no smoke. I don't feel any ill effects at this moment, so everything is cool with that ( i hope).

Sorry to bring up this old thread...

With the sprayable deep creep, how much of the can should I use spraying into the Brake Booster line?

Tried it, liked it, and certainly will do it again. Not often though.

1/2 in brake booster line and the other 1/2 in gas tank. There was alot of smoke for about 7-8 mins. Ran it til there was no more smoke and waited a few hours and did the oil change.

Drove the car to a friends house (about 25 mins one way) and back and oil was as clear as when I put it in. Checked it again this morning - same. Will check it again after a week of to and from work commutes.

better responsiveness is noticeable. Im a rook when it comes to mechanic stuff and this I might say is SUPER EASY. I just followed directions from this thread.

Great stuff for a cheap price.

Can someone either explain to me, or just show me a picture of where the brake booster line is on a 5th gen Max please. I don't want to pour this stuff down the wrong hose.

TIA,
Rob

It's the rubber hose with the bend in it that goes into your master cylinder, located on the driver's side.

Found a pic through SEARCHING... Since you have donated, you can do that too.

Cool, thanks!

Just to clarify, I assume you mean the rubber hose right behind that yellow cap (in the picture you link to).

Searching........what's that?
