Watter Wetter

http://www.redlineoil.com/products_c...p?productID=53

Has anyone tried this on their 6th GEN? I'm worried that running this product alone might gangle my cooling system? Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks,

Kam

I'm sure it works to reduce temperatures. Are you having temperature issues?

Also I think that it affects the freezing point of the coolant. Causing it to freeze at a higher temperature than you'd want since you live in Ontario. Dunno about that...just something that I remember. Check into that tho.

o Thats the same stuff I have been using in my Computer cooling system.

This is what happens - it changes the water to be able to penatrate all the nuks and cranies of your radiator... BUT here is the problem since the watter wetter makes the water thinner the damn radiotor can leak...

I saw that happen in my computer cooling system...

I wouldnt put any aftermarket crap into my car. You are just asking for trouble.

kam,

I'd just do a search on WW. There are numerous org'ers who swear by this stuff. I am not too sure that this product will make your radiator leak, as it's purpose is not to make water penetrate the nooks and crannies of your rad. I'd do some research, and make a decision. BTW, I just changed my Coolant, and I added a bottle

My best friend has used this in all his race bikes for years. I'll ask him more about it and reply to this thread.

So I added a bottle to my rad and well it pretty cool. I'm not sure how precise my readout guage is but now even idling in traffic it hasnt got any where near half. As opposed to before ww it was siting almos allways a little above half heat now it never approaches the half way line.

Except I used Royal Purple version of water wetter. Same idea just different label, so i gues it works pretty well.

Thanks,
Kam

i used this in my R6, Maxima and GMC truck. MY R6 was the most noticable because of my temp read out, thus i am sure it does something for my cars as well, whether its worth the money or not, it doesn't hurt...

Water wetter does NOT reduce coolant temps. Your thermostat alone determines that. All it does is reduce surface tension between the coolant and the radiator internals to provide more efficient heat transfer. This is useless, however, for two reasons:

1. The factory cooling system when operating correctly will be up to anything you throw at it...unless you do a TON of road racing.

2. If it's not, correct the problem as opposed to band-aid'ing it with a product like water wetter. If you need water wetter to keep coolant temps in check something is SERIOUSLY wrong.
