Everyone says to use 1/3 to 1/2 a can but I used more on my car since it has 208,000 miles on it and I doubt its ever been cleaned.

Although I have never used Seafoam, I understand there are better products to use through the crankcase and gas tank. When the time comes I may use it through the brake booster, but at 63K mostly highway miles, I'm not about to use it just yet.

I agree with Bobo...I would run chevron with techron concentrate through the gas tank....I would use auto-rx for the crankcase....and seafoam through the brake booster.....

It doesn't hurt to use seafoam for all 3 applications though....it's just I prefer chevron thru the gas tank becuz it was specifically designed for cleaning the fuel injection system...

I don't wanna start another thread on this so I'd ask here - does engine temp make a difference for Seafoaming? I'm doing it on Thursday so what I was planning, was seafoaming, then going for a drive and hopefully smoke up the town, and then coming back and doing an oil change. Soo... is it ok to seafoam a cold engine?

thanx much. i just put in some mobil1 synth, and was considering a seafoam treatment via the brake booster line. i'd hate to have to change the oil again so soon.

You are supposed to let it warm up to operating temperature before adding the sea foam. When I got the fuel system treatment done at valvoline, they told me the car had to be at operating temperature and i'm guessing sea foam is similar to the stuff they used only I think sea foam works better.

Definitely at operating temp, and before an oil change. Be careful not to let it suck in too fast, any more than a dribbling faucent or you mightl hyrdolock your engine.
