Oil Deal! - Castrol Edge + Purolator Pure1 for $2.66 Total!

Didn't know where else to post this. I don't think there's a Deals section. Here it is:

Advance Auto has a sale on Castrol Edge this month; 5 quarts + Purolator Pure1 oil filter for $24.99. There is a Advance Auto coupon for 10 off 25 and also a Castrol $15 mail in rebate. SO...

$24.99 - 5qts Castrol Edge 5w30 with Pure1 filter
+0.99 - funnel (to bring it over $25)
+1.68 - tax
-10.00 - coupon
—-----------------------
$17.66
-15.00 - Mail In Rebate
—----------------------
$2.66 - so thats 53 cents a quart + oil filter!!! Full Synthetic oil and premium oil filter!

You all better stock up now!

Wow that is an awesome deal. I think you might be onto something with this "Deals Section". You should ask the MODS about it. Maybe you could start it up and moderate the page.

Don't know about moderating but I don't mind posting deals.

They have the same deal last month with Pennzoil Platinum. Actually the $15MIR for PP is still valid till November. You just have to look for a good deal per qt of PP.

Yeah I hardly ever get a chance to look for deals like this. Usually I am allways on the run and just buying on impulse.

I just got back from Auto Zone and I found the German Castrol Syntec 0W30. Most of the time, you can only find the USA Castrol. Plus, they were having a great deal. Purchase 5 quarts and a K&N Filter for 27.99. And they were nice enough to let me substitute a Mobile1 Filter instead. You save $20.95 with this deal! I thought it was worth me sharing.

To read more about UOAs of the German Castrol, Amsoil, Mobile1 and more, you may be interested in this thread:

With my new VQ35 engine, I am thinking about doing UOAs on most or all of my oil changes to find the best oil for my engine. This is the first time I've tried the German Castrol. I currently have Mobile1 5w30 Synthetic.

I've seen a lot of really good UOAs with the German Castrol. In most cases, better than Mobile1. I was surprised. That's why I gave the GC a chance. 0w30 Amsoil SS will probably be next for me as well.
