I used a turkey baster and got all the fluid out one time. Takes a while.

Other time I used a vacuum and sucked out all the fluid in the tank. Filled it up, turned the car on and turned the wheel left to right like 20 times and then repeated the process until i used up 1qt of ATF.

What PS fluid is good? Any good synthetics for the 6th Gen out there? If so where can I find it?

Our cars use ATF for the PS fluid.

You won't fill up 1qt the first time, remember, you just suck out the atf in the reservoir and then refill it. then you turn the wheel left to right all the way many many times. then you drain and fill again until you have finished your 1qt of atf.

i just used a siphon tool to get the fluid out of the resevior and did that a few times since you don't get a whole lot out. I figure after 4 or 5 times over the course of a week I should have most of t hefluid changed.

Purging the PS of old fluid is real simple. This is what I do every 30K miles and never had a PS issue, no leaks, no pump/rack failures no nothing.

1) Drain the reservoir and unplug the return line connected to the reservoir and point the return line (smaller of the lines connected to reservoir, it’s mostly a 3/8") to a empty gallon jug.
2) Raise the front of the vehicle, set the ignition key in ACC to power the pump but not make it run and then turn the steering wheel left and right all the way each end multiple times till no fluid comes off the return line.
3) Reconnect the return line and fill the reservoir with fresh fluid and do steering locks turning the steering wheel left and right many times till no additional fluid needs to be added to the reservoir. With the reservoir with fluid start engine and have the pump flush out all air from the system while doing steering locks left and right 5 times to purge air of the system. Top it off, lower the front end and you are done.

That's how I did on mine. Though a lot of time consuming when you're doing it yourself.
