OOh boy I am so happy I finally found a real spring compressor
I found this strut compressor today as I was browsing ebay. I looked at the manufactures name and called them and once again they pulled a stillen but in a polite manner. I can now install springs/struts much faster then before. So far my fastest install has been 1hr 20 mins on a 2k3 maxima. With this sweet tool it should be more of a breeze doing a shock/spring install. I am so happy. Now I have to dig up some cash. Lets see if once again my old man pays for half of it
I believe this is the one or similar model that almost took off my leg when I first started back in 97

That would be handy
heck, i think i'm going to print that and give it to my old high school shop teacher. I think he'd like to get one of those
very cool. Jeff92se was telling me about them when we were doing my suspension.

Those are what most professional shops use. I used to be friends with a guy at a Monroe muffler, and he'd let me use that compressor when I needed it (I found that stock springs were too be for the AutoZone compressors I rented).
Best part of GC's coilovers...I don't need a compressor to do suspension work.

Yeah. Thats what I use. They can be a tad cumbersome with drop springs though. The coils get to the point where you cant remove the forks once the tension is released on the spring. Thus, you'll hve to retighten, and move the clamp forks. Either way, it does make things 300 times easier than the old school strut compressors.

you can get that
, or u can go to harbor freight and get some manual ones that u have to ratchet down for like 15 buck, it works for me and i still have them, haven't failed yet, it would take maybe 10 minutes longer that with that machine but i would rather save that money and get something i would use more often.

oooohh Geeez dont you think I own a set of those cheesy POS compressors already? No as a matter of fact I own the thick ones autozone sells. I am sick and tired of compressing coils with that Bullsh!t. I need what I just posted. I compress springs all the time. I mean I have to justify why am I going to spend $700 on a tool. I need something that makes life easy and this will do it. I highly doubt I pay close to $700.00. With some research and some resources someone is going to doookeey me one for under $500.00. See many many people come thru my house wanting to compress their coils to drop their cars. From Nissan, hondas, trucks etc...you name it, it comes to me. Today I bought a OBD-II scanner, I need that tool bad. Some cars dont reset like ours and I need to know what the CEL means.

I hear you Jay. If I was constantly lowering cars, I'd consider investing in a quality spring tool. The little individual clamp types are big pain even when using an air compressor gun. It's okay when you do this shat 1-2 a year, but for your business the cheap crap doesn't cut it.

Now you tell me, geeez, no I bought the ones that come with the little PDA from autozone. They have one that costs $280.00 and thats the one I got. It does the diagnostics on your car, gives you codes lets you erase the codes. I dont know what else it does. I just got it tonight. I did fix all 9 codes the ECU gave the cheaper version of this tool earlier today when I went to autozone. Thanks for the offer but I feel bad borrowing or keeping a expensive tool like that one.
Jeff, thats why I posted this maybe someone else may want to buy one for their garage. I cant get it right now since I just bought this cool tool. But I will get one in about 3-4 months. If not sooner. Spoke to my dad today and hes like WTF is that? a bad azzz compressor that I need. Hes like get it then. JeffersonM yeah one of these days myself and Tom can go at it, him in his garage me in my garage. I do know crazy short cuts
I would not advise people to take the ones I take, you may lose a limb or something

I have two compressors. I have a 33 gallon and a 5 gallon compressor. I love my 33 gallon compressor, CFM is plenty to get that Snap on gun to flow at max torque in reverse. 5 gallon compressor my father keeps in his truck. I have a cylinder thats holds about 3 gallons of compressed air. That was given to me, I rarely use it. Hoses you guys can pick those up from harbor freight for 11.00 and the connector that is on the tip of the hose, buy the one from sears that has a rubber seal, that one selas much better.
Deezo you need to move from the North pole and move out here
you will be a nicer moderator living in nice weather
Matt93 even if you do 1-2 installs a week the compressor is the true work horse. If your versatile like I am then a $62.00 tranny jack will make your day very easy.

If the little autozone POS compressors work for you stick to those. I am a mighty picky guy and demand perfection when I am putting a strut back together. Thats just something I do when I work on everyones car. To strive perfection and 10 minutes that wont work trust me on that one. It takes me more then ten mins to put a certain suspension setups together per strut because the autozone trash doesnt work most of the times. Everyone wants different suspension setups eventually one day you ll give up. I been looking for this compressor for the longest. I finally found it so this
is not necessary. Tools are like gold to me and if theres a tool that makes my life easier, I dont give a fck how much it costs I just buy it.
