Total Garage Overhaul !!!
garage tips
My tips:
Have all workbenches and racks so they can be moved away from the walls for cleaning.
Have HEAT as nothing sucks more than working in the cold. I satisfied this requirement with a big patio heater. It sucks propane but it warms the place up quickly.
Compressor and Parts washer are quite desireable. As is a high quality impact wrench.
If I were building another house, I would have had the contractor put a drain in the garage. He talked me out of it on my current house and I regret it. Something about codes or some crap. Imagine washing your car in a nicely heated garage in the middle of winter.

I bought a small 220v portable heater a couple of months back from Northern Tool (had to order and ship to store) for about $75 and love it. It was about $15 for 4awg wire and a 30a breaker to add to the breaker box which happened to be in the garage.
When I saw the package at the store I was a little shocked and worried about the small size (about 16" square)and then even more concerned when I picked it up (13.5lbs). But after wiring up the 220 receptacle and firing it up (adjustable thermostat), it raised the garage temperature (about 380sf) about 5 degrees in around 10mins at a medium setting...I know gas is probably cheaper in alot of areas but I like it for what it is.
