Centerforce Installed
Centerforce Installed
I had my Centerforce Dual Friction installed about two weeks ago. So far I'm very pleased with it. I went easy on it the first 500 miles to let it break in. I hit 501 miles and what happens? I actually run into a 5-speed Prelude that wants to race. I'm eager to see how the new clutch does, so I rev it to 2500 and let it out. The car hooks so unbelievable nice spinning the wheels so perfectly. I pull a nice 1/2 car on him during the launch and then bang into second with a loud bark. When I got to third, it was weird to experience how much grip the clutch has because I had some nice torque steer when I shifted into it. I'm really pleased with it so far and am happy it's finally installed after 1 year of being in my closet. The clutch pedal is a lot softer than the OEM one. I haven't had it slip once and a friend of mine hasn't had any slip on his Centerforce as well and he had a blower on his Maxima for a while.

The CENTERFORCE was the first aftermarket clutch for the MAX right? I read some posts from 2 years ago or so and everyone was saying that it was a piece of ****. Then the ACT came out and everyone just jumped ship to that. Glad to see you like it and it works for you, FOR NOW!!!
you bought a centerforce?
after the 8 differnet maxima owners i showed here who had problems with 4th Generation Centerforce Clutches slipping after a couple thousand miles.. and Two members who bought one exactly after the first one was defective and you bought one?
let me bookmark this thread for a couple 1000 miles

I have 45,000 miles on my Centerforce and it has not slipped once on me. 2000 of those miles were boosted by a 3.33 pulley. Im sorry other Maxima owners had a bad experience, but I would recommend this clutch again and again.

There are several posts in that link that show there are others with the same success as me.

ok.. so they are 3 success stories and about 9 bad experiences.. so that gives me a great reference to buy the product right? oh yeah.. i see your point.. lets see now.. my wife wants a certain kind of crib for our son.. and since its killed 9 babies and 3 have slept well.. i guess its ok to go out and buy it right?

great logic

For your information I plan on going to an ACT for my next clutch. The purpose of my responses was not to preach that Centerforce is the "end all be all" clutch, rather to inform those out there that I'm more than happy with mine and for the money it's great.
Let's see, any owner who has problems is always going to complain on a message board. So there are 8 owners with problems. Ok... now, how many have bought them and haven't had problems and just not said anything. I bought the Centerforce a year and half ago. I bought it, I couldn't get my money back for it. If the ACT had been around then I probably would have hopped on the bandwagon and gotten that. But for the time I chose the Centerforce. I'm happy with that decision. If the clutch blows, oh well, it happens. Buy another one and learn. But I've decided not to follow everyones opinion here on the .org because too many people are always eager to follow one bad experience around.
