Maintenance...

Is there something that goes out on Max's more than other cars that I might need to check for?

In the next couple weeks I was going to check out a bunch of things to make sure everything is in order.

Spark Plugs - NGK coppers
Wires - ?
Fuel filter - does anyone make a performance fuel filter?
Compression

Anything else?

Thanks

On the 4th gens, the plugs should be NGK Platinums, there are no wires per se. Use the 300ZX fuel filter instead. Compression is 10:1

Common problems, starters and alternators, knock and O2 sensors, and vent control valves mostly. Some of the 5 speeds have bearing issues. On the whole, major mechanical issues don't crop up on these cars if well maintained, it's mostly nuisance stuff.

you don't have to use Platinum Plugs.. thats only if you are lazy and dont' feel like changing them every 30 k miles.. NGK Copper are better than Plats.. and i highly reccomend them over Plats.. they are way cheaper and give better performance..
