On a converter or LSD? Like I said, my mechanic is tearing it down and telling me exactly what broke. If it's the converter, I have choices and I will definetly try and fix it right. If it's something else specially "hard" parts like the planet gears, spline, etc., then I'm pretty much SOL since there are no stronger parts available, and I would not want to put more money into it. That's really the only reason why I haven't tried too hard to do something with you yet, since I don't want to spend more money if the tranny is not going to hold up but 6 mos at a time. If that's the case, I will probably just opt for a regular rebuild and start hunting down a 5spd. Know what I mean? But if it is something that I can fix "right" like a converter, clutches, bands, etc...then I need to hook up with you and see what you can get me.

Give me a number where to reach you, so when he tells me on monday what broke I can call you if I need you to price me out something. Please.

Thank you sir. I thought that was kinda odd that they would be linking to each other and both selling similar products. That just saved me a few hundred dollars. Thank you.

Jamie, If you are looking at a short term project, 6-8 months, look at cryogening certain parts of the Auto tranny.

It is my personal belief that the auto, if done right, will hold gobs of power.

Start here http://www.look.com/searchroute/dire...ch.asp?p=99851

there is alot of companies that do it..and if you can get your hands on an I30 auto LSD tranny and then croygen treat a few parts on it, you should be golden.

Cost???? I do not know at that point it might be cheaper to buy a new car.

Just throwing it out there for you to think about

Only problem is that warranty goes void once Nitrous is thrown into the mix. Really, what I'm looking for is not so much warranty but durability under severe conditions, i.e. nitrous at the track. I can get a tranny to hold fine w/o nitrous. It's just when juiced they seem to fall apart, and I'm trying to find the weak link to find a stronger replacement.

Thanks for the help anyway.

Erik, I think that if the breakdown was NOT the torque converter or a part I CAN get something stronger for; I will definetly start hunting down a 5spd right away and I will need your help on what parts I would need. My idea is to let my mechanic rebuild my auto, so I can get around, and in the mean time build a 5spd and have it ready to go, run the auto hard at the track until it blows up, and put the ready 5spd in.
Ok, I will talk to M&S and see what they have for pricing on that 5-speed tranny. Just to let you know, it won't be cheap, it will probably be about 500-900 for all the parts off of it, minus the clutch system (master cylinder, slave cylinder, and clutch line) which I have in my car now. I will give them a call tomorrow and see what they are wanting for it. What the nice thing is, they take off everything "free", all you pay for is the actual parts. So I wil let you know....
