Here's a link to purchase a switchblade key

You just need to tinker with a few options that come with it.

The only way i see this working is going to the VW dealership and ask them if they can sell you a blank key for a 2001 - 2003 GTI vr6 .. then having a hardware store cut it to your maxima key.. provided you don't have a 99+ with the chip in it..

on a side note.. whats up.. i need to buy a shifter off you.. i like the ones you make.. i want an iluminated one with my name in it

$30k to $40k for a key does seem excessive.....

Regarding Darren's idea, the VW/Audi keys are rather thick compared to Nissan keys, so I have to wonder if that physical difference would even allow you to have one cut appropriately......plus the immobilizer issue on the 99+ models, although I think Keving is working on some sort of "workaround" for that.....

at first i thought this was about a key that would act like a switchblade and slide out vertically and not swing around.. i was going to suggest my key that i use that is a butterfly knife key.

i think the audi/vw style might work depending on the width issue.

I might have to see if that'd work. I wonder if the Jetta FOB would work on the max?
