Everytime a z goes by on the road with a throaty exhaust I will always get a bit jealous though, I WILL own one after college that's for sure.As far as the flows, they sounded great at first. But now it's just getting too loud, and It sounds ricey at WOT. I am getting a big resonator and HOPEFULLY that will cure my problems. I want to quiet the exhaust down to a mellowed burble. I'd rather hear WAHHHHH and PSSSSHHHHH then burble burble fart faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaart.

Nah, LS1's sound like poop and are out of my price range. I was on the very VERGE of taking home a 97 loaded z28 LT1, but I got an offer I JUST couldn't refuse. W/ the z, I would be paying $108 more a month in insurence and more in gas as well, and would have VERY little money for mods. I would also have to fork over $500 for new tires and another few hundred to fix the rear differencial. Instead, I can keep my max, no rise in insurence/gas, have plenty of $ for mods, and get a free supercharger/clutch. Now you do the math.

i have a flowmaster, high-flo cat, and a custom hybrid intake. It sounds like a wannabe muscle car... but i'd rather have that than a ricer sound. I'm planning on getting an aftermarket y-pipe, so the sound will be multiplied.

But nothing beats a flowmaster sound coming out of a family sedan...

Burton069, Your right, LS1's with loudmouth's sound horrible. Even LT1's with loudmouths sound like crap. The Z's only have a single exhaust while stangs have true duals. If you spend the $$ to put hooker longtubes and true duals on a LT1, it will sound amazing. But with Mustangs, it's soo much easier to make them sound good, especially Cobra's.
IMO LS1's sound too truck-like. I heard a New Vette the other day with some type of exhaust and it sounded HORRIBLE. But with the proper treatment, and LS1 could sound aggressive, but IMO will always sound more dirty and trucklike then an LT1.
And NOTHING beats the sound of a V1 supercharged Max with a Blitz BOV.
you dont really need a muscle car for good sound, i buddy of mine has a supra thats modded. the turbos spooling and a good deep sound from the exhaust followed by a blow valve sounds amazing. theres a kid at my school with slp exhaust on his T/A and it sounds like crap, i think most trans am's and camaro's sound like sh*t, and althogh they are not as fast, a mustang sounds the best out of the muscle cars.
