Spring Coil making funny noise when turning.
I just installed some new springs on my car I only recently notice that when i turn the wheel it makes a noise.. so I had my friend turn the wheel while I looked at the spring it seems the spring is turning like its being caught by something causing a griding sound... anyone ever had such problem?? I'm sure I did everything correct when installing.

The spring is supposed to rotate with the strut.
Did you replace the strut bearings or use your old ones? A common mistake is to put the strut bearings on upside down. The flat side goes face down on the spring perch.
Did you put new isolation sleves on your springs?
Did you make sure the word OUT on the upper spring perch was facing out & in line with the lower strut mount?

Your bearings wount be harmed, they are usually damaged when their installed upside down. The mis-alignment of the top perch wount cause initial damage to them.
I'd take it apart and line it up correctly. Your spring could be binding because of the alignment of the top mount.

The way the spring seat is made one side is higher then the other. Look under the fender well. A couple of turns will destroy it. In Chris case a little may not damage it but you never know, just remove it once again Chris.

Thank you Jay and others.
I fixed it, it was indeed the OUT.. I took everything apart last night and made sure it was lined with the strut bolts, no more noise also there was no damage to the bearing.
jay aka <spring master>
thanks.
