The way to do it on 4th Gens is the following. . . Not sure if it is true for 5ths, make sure to have all keyless fobs with you when doing this:

1. Get into car and lock the doors.

2. Insert key into the ignition and pull it out rapidly, like 5 times in 10 secs. The lights should flash. This means that all previous keyless codes are cleared from memory.

3. Turn the ignition to the ACC position.

4. Press the lock button on the keyless entry fob. The lights will flash.

5. Unlock the doors, but don't open the door. . . Relock them again.

6. Press the lock button on the 2nd keyless fob. . .

7. Repeat until all fobs have been done. Will accept up to 4 different codes. When door is opened, all codes are set.

Try it, I assume it would be the same.

How about on a Pathfinder?

I lost my remote entry fob, and need a couple new ones. Deal price is $89!!! What a deal, eh? Where can I find some more reasonably priced? I would like 2, if anybody has them for sale.

About the programming, it should be the same on the Pathfinder, right? Did this procedure work on your 5th gen, yo yo?

Any more info on this subject would be gratly appreciated. Thanks.

I would assume that this procedure is the same for the Pathfinder, as it also works on the 5th gens. You might want to check Ebay for these as they are always up there and reasonably priced. . . If they look like the Maxima fob, then you can just get one of those, I think all Nissans use the same ones.

I have 2000 Maxima and all I have is a valet transponder key. Do I need to have the master key in order to program remote fobs? Doesn't seem to work with my valet key...

Just completed this on my 02 paid $25.00 for key fob off e-bay
lock all doors
1.Insert the key in and pull it out 6 times quickly and the hazards will flash
2.Turn the key to acc and press a button on the key fob (nothing will happen)
3.Turn the key to off and pull it out
4.Unlock the drivers side door and open it
Press a button not your key fob and it should work...took me a couple of times
