Click on the links on my post refering to this swap. Its as Ramius stated. The only difference between the 26 and 30 mm calipers is the rotor thickness. The overall width of the caliper itself is the same. The 4mm difference is in the rotor channel..........not the actual width of the caliper.
The link with Asad's caliper write up shows this clearly.

I have a call into my local parts store to have them pull the calipers and compare them. They do look different on this pic, however. If you look at the 26mm where it has "90" written in yellow, it appears to be at least a few mm's narrower.

Very nice mod!
Looks great Ramius! Sounds like they do the job pretty good too. Just had a lil' suggestion: Next time you pull the wheels, take a file (or disc sander) and shave the face of the Nissan logos--kinda like this:
Just a thought

Yeah yeah, I know. When I had the calipers off, I actually did try to paint the NISSAN white, but the white would not stick to the powdercoating. When I have a chance next time, I am gonna just sand them down a little with a file and leave it at that.....Thanks for the suggestion....

Hmmm I tore apart my whole front brake setup.....ZX Calipers, Rotors.......the RX7 wheel will need at least 20 mm spacers to clear on my 4th Gen. When holding the rx7 wheel up in position to clear the caliper all that was visible of the stud was the end there was not even one thread showing on the stud....and that was holding in as close to the caliper as possible.
On my setup, with the width and offset of that wheel if I went with spacers that size the wheel would stick out...........not good
Perhaps the 3rd gen geometry is a bit different.....fender wise.....etc.

I know on a 4th gen, you don't need a front spacer at all, and maybe a 5mm rear. I've got 5mm front, and 20mm rear.
I'll let you know if I ever get a shaved Z rotor to test on.....

I got a question
How important is it to know the production date of the donor car that your Z32 calipers came from? From searching for Z rotors there seems to be several different production dates to choose from, one particular year could have two different production dates. For those who purchase there calipers over the net, or from a friend of a friend and they were only given "These calipers came of a 199_ Z" will these guys have a problem buying rotors. Does one rotor fit them all regardless of year? Due to the 26mm and 30mm calipers are the only difference in rotors the thickness? If you got a 26mm caliper is it best to search for rotors for the 30mm caliper? I was lucky enough to take a peek at the VIN tag when I pick up my calipers at the bone yard, 6/89
After finding my answer from another alert member, I'll just update instead of deleting my post.
280mm x 26mm were used on n/a 2/89? - 7/89
280mm x 30mm were used on all others application
Or something like that
Thanks, MIKE
