Clutch problem...please someone help me out.

Okay here is the deal i recently replaced my clutch with an ACT street clutch on my 96. The problem im having is that under continuous driving lets say like being stuck in traffic when you are on and off the clutch repeatidly. Over time the clutch pedal itself slowly progresses and becomes firmer and firmer until its at a point when its you have to use extra force to push it down. When this happens the clutch itself begins to slip Ive since replaced the slave and master cylinder and i still have this problem. Once the clutch starts slipping the car itself doesnt engage and id have to wait around 2 hours for it to cool down before i could drive it again. im guessing its a problem with the pressure plate but who knows. If you know a thing or two about clutches please help.

Thanks in advance fellas,

Jon

how many miles on the clutch? when things wear down there is more and more endplay that the flywheel fingers have to travel to keep pressure agains the clutch disc and flywheel so that can explain the stiffer pedal and slippage since its much harder to push those fingers in and also less clamping force the fingers can exhert
