Installing Fields AFC? I need help please.

It's for a '97.

Wiring:
Fields-------------->Max ECU wire
---------------------------------------

1)Red---------------> Ignition switch 12V(Terminal #24(Red))
2)Green-------------> Tachometer(Terminal #5(White/Grey))
3)White-------------> 02 sensor Right Bank(Terminal #50(White)) or Left Bank(#51(White))
4)Blue/Violet--------> Speed sensor(#29 Pink/Light Blue)
5)Black-------------> Chasis ground

6)Brown/Orange----->MAF???(#54(White))??????
7)Yellow/Dark Blue-->MAF ground???(#55(Black))?????

Ok, I'm good on all, but 6 and 7. Since this is an AFC, I'm pretty sure I need to intercept/modify the MAF signals, but the manual only states 6 or 7 are for "sensor signals".

Can someone with a Fields installed, double check my wiring colors and enlighten me on how it modifies A/F?

Thanks!

Re: Installing Fields AFC? I need help please.

I'm a 99 and they look to be the same colors. Don't hook up the yellow/dark blue wires. The yellow/blue wires are for the RB26DETT. What I did was cut the MAF(after I found it with a test light) wire going to the ECU. The brown wire is the wire that recieves from the sensor and the orange wire is what the Field uses to send back to the ECU. What it does is takes the signal from the sensor, you adjust the percentage in 1% increments(up to 10%), and sends the new data to the ECU. So you are just tricking the ECU to think either more air is coming in(richen) or less(lean).

My experience with it:
When I tuned it(N/A), I had to lean it out 7% from 4-6000rpm.(Gained about 6hp)
On nitrous, I leaned it 3%@4000, 5%@5000, 5%@6000, 2%@7000.(Gained about 50HP and 80TQ

For 6) the Orange wire connects to the "half" of the WHITE wire coming from ECU terminal #54 and the Brown wire connects to the "half" of the WHITE wire that goes to the MAF.

Hopefully, I'll get time this weekend to verify.
