Traded cars with my girlfriend so she could let her co-worker test-drive it.. he was looking at a '98 240 and I told him he needed a 4th gen Maxima instead.
I was in her '99 Civic Si with CAI, she was in my Max. Coming home from the gym. I rolled up behind her just as the light turned green. I dropped the Si down into 1st and hammered it, pulled around her. She looked right and saw me passing (already in VTEC) and stomped on it. ****ing Maxima just pulled. She shifted into second as I was speedshifting her car to 2nd and the Max pulled again. Si started gaining a little at the top of 2nd but then she went to third and pulled it all back plus another car length. Ridiculous. I couldn't believe it.. I've beaten a lot of Si's in the thing but I figured the guys weren't driving them hard or right or whatever. I was FLOGGING that Si... and it's got a +12 HP cold air intake and beats other Si's regularly.
Next light we lined 'em up side by side. I knew I'd smoke her from a dead stop launch. Haha. Nope. I jumped her out of the hole but then the Si hit the dead spot before VTEC (even though I was riding the clutch trying to keep the revs up) and the Max is over there spinning through the top of first and pulling at the same time. I slam 2nd and WAVE at her.. I was SURE the Si would walk the Max at this point. Nope. She goes to 2nd, gets back in the throttle (doesn't know how to speedshift) and smokes me. Goes to 3rd and at 70mph she's 3 car lengths out front. It was too funny. Best part is the Maxima is STONE SILENT when it's killing the Si. I was trippin'.
I love that big ol' 4 door.
P.S. Her co-worker did a big accidental burnout in my car when he was test-driving it. Just about shat his pants while giggling uncontrollably the entire time. He said "screw the 240,I'm getting a Max". Cool.

She was driving my 5spd Maxima (4th gen)
I was driving her 5spd Si. She waxed me twice while driving the mighty Maxima. Pretty funny.

Man U lucky, a woman that drives stick, and a it's a SI at that is sum sexy shyt......... But my luck is that my new gf ex has a SI and he think it's the king of the world, he damn near dropped a tear when I told him I was selling my third for a fourth 5sp. Up to this day he can't understand the concept...well four weeks to go then I guess he'll see. But look on the brighter side, that electric blue caught the eye of my son and he's say "daddy" i like that car....I laughed my @ss off, a car that appeals to a 4.5yr old....anywho it's whatever floats your boat, but for now my boat is a 4dsc
