Buying Mods-Is Your Car More Show Or Go?
#46
I don't know??
I made my own intake components
I replaced the turn signals because Nissan 'accidentally' put orange ones on; I suspect it was the same person who 'accidentally' put orange gauges in the new Nissans
I replaced the wheels because the GXE steelies are ugly, heavy and came with traction-less tires
I replaced the door pillars because they were fading
I shaved the rear because everyone knows what kind of car it is already, it looks better, and it was free
I put a low back pressure muffler on because the 2k+ guy's said Nissan didn't use the one I had anymore because it was restrictive; and any good car deserves chrome exhaust
I bought a CD player because my cousin owns a stereo school, it was less than half of what it would cost from another place (buddy deal) and I needed a CD player to play music in my car (only have CD's)
I have a JWT velocity stack and filter
I have blue headlights to let the civics know I like to play too
I have a Y-pipe because it is ridiculous how much power is added when all you do is "uncork" a maxima
I DON'T have a supercharger or turbo because I am in school and have no money, but I dream of boost as much as sex and have only one more class and then !!freedom!! to get a real crappy house and a nasty fast super expensive car
I thought the term "show car" and the "show car scene" referred to the Fast and the Fuel Efficient big body kits, neon everywhere, air ride systems, big heavy stereo systems, ridiculously big wings and no thought of what a car was designed for, acceleration, handling, and braking. If a car is fast I like it usually regardless of how it looks, if it looks like it's fast and is slow
I do not want to subscribe to the 'show' car scene(IMHO), what should I ditch, or do I have a reasonable basis for having some appearance mods as stated above?

Maybe 50/50. Got all the bolt-on performance stuff, full suspension and brake upgrades on my 3rd gen. Not much in the way of stereo or anything else in the interior. The kit, wing, grill, stickers and wire covring under the hood drag it down though. I even got the front valve cover powder coated!
