Tires..what should I replace my Dunlop A2's with?

I only got about 30k from them...is that good? tried the Kumho's but too noisy. What would you recommend for equal or better tread life and noise level? thanks!

Another set of A2's? I've heard they ware fast, I've got like 12K on mine, so far they look great still. Have you had your alignment checked recently?

Check out the Bridgestone RE950 or the Dunlop SP5000. You might get more tread life from them.

I have the Sport A2's and am burning through them like butter. About time for me to replace them, so not sure what I am going to do.

I really like the tires, they just didn't last long enough.

seems to be the consensus that the Dunlops don't last very long..mine have lasted 30k..I kept correct air pressure in them 33f/32r and the middle seems to have worn out the most which would seem to be from too much pressure..anyway, I need to get my next set rotated more often so I'm going to Firestone where the guy said he'd match Tireracks price and charge me $60 to mount and have have lifetime balance and rotation..pretty good deal if you ask me since I'd have to pay someone $60 to mount and balance anyway. I've found that Firestone is more concerned with quotas on tire sales than profit per tire.

Dunlop SP5000s are very quiet. I love mine. They stick like crazy and have one of the coolest thread patterns I've ever seen. =)

I have Dunlop SP 5000s on my I30. Will only get about 16,000 miles per set. Great tire, poor milage. Alignment and struts are fine, rotated every 5K and watched tire pressure closely. These are V rates Ultra high performance tires with a AA Traction Rating. Loved the tire just not the milage. In June I'll be putting on a set of Bridgstone RE 950s at Costo during $60 off sale. Tires come with a 45K wear out warranty so I am reducing exposure to poor wearing tires!

I'm running the Avid V4's. Had them for a couple of months now and have been very happy with them.

They've been good tires and have a good tread life warranty too. Although, the warranty really isn't worth much as it's based on MSRP prices and pro-rated. So if you purchase from a discount tire shop the warranty won't be worth much at all.

Costco uses their current selling price not MSRP when adjusting wear out of tires during warranty. ie. Tire they sell for $90 with 50% of warranty left when tire wears out you pay $90 X .50 or $45 per new tire. I think it is a fair way to do it. Their tires also come with lifetime balance, rotation, flat repair and 5 year road hazard warranty plus new valve stems included in their tire price. You can save $9.00 without getting this package. Don't know if they have any stores up your way. They also hand torque lug nuts!

Thanks! That's good to know, I'll check out the local Costco the next time I need tires. The place I bought mine from is a small indy shop. When I asked about the warranty on the Avid's he told me they were pro-rated based on the MSRP. The only reason I went to that shop was I went to stop at a red light in the rain, and didn't stop until half way through the intersection. I had just bought the car and knew that that tires needed replacing and had a road trip planned for the weekend. So an emergency first-tire-shop-I-see-purchase.

Ditto! I just bought my A2's about 3 weeks ago. The guy did tell me to be sure I rotated them every 5K miles or they wouldn't last very long. He gave them a thumbs up because he was using them on his Grand Prix. Good thing I have lifetime rotate and balance.

Try the new Continental Contiextremecontacts. Excellent tire, just got
about a month ago, very nice ride, quiet, excellent traction wet or dry, and excellent treadwear rating (400). You can check them out at
