First of all, I am not the worlds leading expert in Metals. Here's what I have learned from one of our top advisors who has been making exhaust components, and headers for 27yrs. "If you have a show car that dosn't get alot of miles and use, then use 304, it's bright and shiney, but lacks flexability, tarnishes easily, and is more expensive. Many show cars have headers from 304. If you want durability, flex, (as in a y-pipe), use 409, it lasts a long time, has good flexibility and is more reasonably priced than 304."At some point we may offer a 304 model, but for now we want to keep going with 409, because of above characteristics. That makes good sense,

from my limited knowledge, I agree on the 304/409 SS information. For those who haven't followed from the previous thread on Y Pipes, where the topic originated: Warpspeed's SS Y pipe is made of 409 and I questioned why vs 304 (or 300 series' SS); so 409 is the better material for daily drivers.

What about using header wrap?
