ACT clutch break in experience

Ok, well after driving about 500 miles in just city traffic, i decided to finally try to drive a little more aggressively. I was pretty impressed with how well the clutch grabbed, was able to chirp 2nd and 3rd gear...I wasn't so happy with how bad my dash would shake on the 1-2 shift. It felt like I might break something from shifting so hard. Anyway I'm going to keep away from doing anymore of that until I get some poly engine mounts. The funny thing is that in just the last 100 miles (i'm at about 600 now after getting the clutch installed), the clutch really seems to have just softened up, shifting is a lot more smooth and it doesn't take quite as much pressure to push down the clutch pedal. From just normal driving, this clutch feels just about as smooth as the stock one did, is this normal once the clutch is broken in? I just don't want to do anything that could lead to any transmission damage or premature clutch wear.

What you described is normal. While your clutch is new you'll get those violent 1-2 shifts, so be careful. Over time the ACT still holds great, but you can shift 1-2 harder than after the initial break in period.

Yeah.. my launches were so violent and hopping.. Switch to urethane mounts and that'd helped out a lot..
