Why would you want to? It's not as though an SE is better in any way than a GXE or GLE. It's just different options.

What would you have to take off of an SE to make it qualify as a GXE or GLE? What would you have to do to an SE to make it as light and fast as a GXE?

I could probably think up more.

I wouldn't "add" an SE emblem, that's one more emblem gaying up your ride. I wouldn't say I have an SE anyway, wouldn't want to. Wouldn't say I have a SE-R, GTR, or any of that crap either. Maybe I have a Maxima CBK. I think that's what I'll say from now on. On my name tag at work it says Vito Covalucci CBK, no foolin. Awww yeah, chief book knocka in the house

Oh, I see how it is, more classist elitism by the "real" employees. I get paid for every minute I work with OT and my benefits are mighty nice. Like having my cake and a 40 too. I think I saw your car in the lot last week. Beige with 6-10 spokes on it? Nice indeed, nice to see it makes the trip to work every now and again...

get a 3rd gen GXE. keep it stock looking everywhere. find wrecked 6th gen. yank VQ engine and tranny from 6th gen and shoehorn it into 3rd gen. spend lots of money on this to do it the right way. pull up next to Mustang 5.0. let them laugh at you. laugh at them. if safe enough, at turning of light, floor it and continue to laugh at them. SE emblem doesn't matter at that point.

Why a 3rd gen GXE? A 4th Gen GXE weighs less.

Hey, I put an SE badge on mine, I like the black lettering better than the silver one that came with my car (2001 GXE) and after I put the black Maxima logo, the other side looked kinda naked, so I put the SE there. But I do have a few of the SE goodies, like the spoiler, 17" SE rims, white gauges, fogs, and an FSTB and RSB for the suspension, so I'm not totally faking it...but to each their own. Some people like a completely shaves @ss, but I don't. The chrome in my grill and my door handles kinda gives me away though, if you're really looking.

Why would you think the 2nd gen weighs less than the 4th gen?

SEs kindof of speak for themselves. On the outside, they're the only model trim with body color door handles and black mold trim (instead of chrome). On the inside, the white face gages make them stand out. They are the most distinct Maxima. They don't need no stickin' label
