Leatherseats.com installation ?

Anyone with the late 4th gen seats that has the pouch on back of the front seats, how did you get the hog rings on, and what in gods name did you do with the nylon cords?

he didn't have the pouches on the back of the seat... his was much simpler than this setup... On his car we just removed the perf board thing and re-covered it, giving us access to the inside of the seat. on my seats they put this really nice pouch on the back, but you can't seem to get at the innards of the seat to hog ring anything. It is a PITA

you can take the perf board out right??? its been a long time since I did mine and someone elses (who did have the pouch) only problem I remember us having was trying to get the perf board back into place because the pouch is fat and kept popping out of the clips

no I got the board out. I would imagine that I am not supposed to reuse the board. The new cover is all 1 piece with the pouch built into it

Yes, that right. On the kits with the pouch built in, you don't put the board back in. You have to reach inside and hogring the front. Its a PITA, but looks good when its finished. As far as the nylon cords, I can't remember. You might want to give Eric a call on monday. Hes pretty good over the phone. Plus he has a Maxima, so he knows how to install it.

you have to get a second person to push the front of the seat back towards you while you reach your arm up through the back and ring it. its a major pita...especially making sure you dont puncture the leather...

The front seats are hard as shiet to do. I actually tried not putting those rings on one of my seats, then putting them on the other. I couldn't even tell the difference. Just make sure the velcrow is on snug if you can't get the hog rings in.

BTW. Does anyone know how to take apart the door on a 5th gen? I need to go ahead and do my doors.

A little stainless steel safety wire and some saftey wire pliers makes the seat backs pretty easy. Make sure you turn the twisted wire ends down into the foam so they don't poke the leather. Hog rings are not so bad on the rest.
