Which of these 2 Maximas should I buy?

Both 2000 Maximas are seemingly identical in condition and specs, and are exactly the same price.

1.) Has 39K miles, BUT comes with a 100K powertrain warranty. A "certified" used Nissan from a Nissan dealership.

or

2.) Only has 28K miles, but no warranty. Would not be bought from a Nissan dealership, but from another reputable local place - we've bought 4 cars there in the past, and have had only good experiences.

Should I opt for the lower miles, or the warranty? Both are great cars. I really appreciate your input.

If I'm not mistaken you can still buy your warranty from nissan if it is done before 36,000 miles

dude the warranty does sound nice but u belong to Org meaning ur gonna b moddin ur car before u even know it and ur warranty will void any way. the only other good thing bout the other car is that its so called "certified". although a 2000 with only 28k miles is awesome!! thats less then 10k miles a year. hmmmm i would go with the local dealer and the 28k miles. btw, what colors? auto or 5 spd? cloth or leather and what color? bose? those tihngs r important too.

wait... how exactly is there no warranty left at 28K miles? is it a salvaged title? find that out, and probably stay away from it if that's the case.

Think of what is more value more to you. If you are driving 11K miles a year, so the difference in mileage may be worth a year's use of the car. A years use of the car can be valued at $3,000- this is how much the Maxima will depreciate in one year. An extended warranty is worth $800. So, if the higher mileage car costs $2,200 less than the lower mileage car, you should buy that car. If they are asking too much for that 39K mi car (the difference is less than $2,200) then go for a lower-mileage car.

With everything being equal (color and options), I would choose the "certified" Maxima. However, if things are not equal, then I would base the decision on other, important factors. Example: If the "certified" one is a GXE auto and the other is an SE manual w/leather, I would opt for the "non-certified." However, all of this depends on what is important to you.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2425079690

A 2k2 6speed with 28k miles and remaining factory warranty.

Get whichever car is amanual transmission. If neither of them are, keep looking and forget those two.

The 3 year 36k mile warranty is only for bumper to bumper. However the 5 year 60k mile powertrain warranty still applies.
