B&M STS Installed
B&M STS Installed
I got the B&M STS installed on my 01 SE. First impression are:
POSTIVE:
- a lot shorter throw than stock shifter
- shorter stick, feels more sportier
- shifts happen very fast
- looks good with my Momo Combat shift **** and 03 TE shift console
NEGATIVE:
- very notchy, harder to shift than stock shifter
- somewhat off center, when in 2nd or 4th, looks like it's in neutral
Overall I'm happy with it and hopefully it will loosen up with use. Thanks to maxdrvr847(Josh) for installing it for me.

Redline MT-90 IS safe for yellow metal synchros.
One alternative may be GM/Pennzoil Synchromesh gear oil which according to their literature is also yellow metal friendly, something GL-5 gear oils are not. To many, this is kind of a "mystery" oil--some have tried it and swear by it, some avoid it because they don't even give a viscosity rating. Normally, some $11/qt at GM dealers, you can also buy a 5-gal bucket at oil-store.com for only $72. You can also get regular Pennzoil 80W90 GL-4 tranny oil in a 5-gal bucket for only $31. (S/H ~$12) 5 GALLONS people!
