Allright, I come up to this light and in the lane next to me is this guy in a 500SL with his girl. Light turns green, I'm off hard, working through the gears, all of a sudden I hear him accelerating hard, he's catching up fast but he never passes me cause we had to stop at the next light. Light turns green, I'm off hard again. I get the jump on him and again he's catching up hard until the next light. Still, he never passed me. He then had to turn off. Hey, I consider it a win. I had him through first and second, he would only catch up when I switched to third.

 

My dad drives a 97 S500 coupe. I know that thing is faster than my auto max.

 

i find that very hard 2 believe ... sure the MB is heavy ... but damn they gotz powerful hamsters in there

That's what I thought. First I thought he was just messing with me, but then I figure that he just ran out of space to catch up. I did get the jump on him both times....

 

500SL's are V8 and 600SL's are V12 rights? im not sure but i tink my friend told me this. just wanna get my info straight. thanks

Actually yes, it was about three blocks or so. There is no doubt in my mind that he was going to catch up and kick my a$$, but hey, he ran out of space and never passed me. Maybe it was all driver skills (on my part), but I consider it a win.

 

Try racing one on the highway. =) Get your tailpipe handed to ya on a platter.
