What is up with this car co.? It's not even 2k4 and there are rebates and financing on the "totally redesigned" 2k4 Sentra? When's the rebate on Maxima, in Jan??

Also the reason why Nissan cars hold no value. Because of the financing and rebate deals they give out. There was a large article on this in the WallST journal about how car keep/lose their value.

I don't see why anybody would want to buy a 2004 Maxima, even if incentives are on the way.

But hey, that's just my opinion. You have to consider that I drive a 10 year old Max (aka, the "4dr Skyline" according to some of my friends)

If Nissan actually had something called customer service, I might be inclined to drop $25-30k on one of their cars even without incentives. But if they don't car then why should I?

I did. Used, nearly out of warranty, and at a deep discount.

Incentives screw up resale for people that buy new, but makes them great deals for people that buy used. Complete lack of customer service makes the warranty almost pointless and minimizes the new car value anyways. Both Toyota and Honda have decent CS and resale so we buy those new. Nissan I think I'll only buy new (not including Infiniti) until things change.

Sometimes, the rebates are not related to how long rhe car has been on sale.

If you look at Consumer Reports, it's hard to say which is better, Honda or Toyota. I would lean towards Honda but it's close. Honda snow throwers are a joke--$1800 for 9 hp, definitely paying for a name when a commercial Ariens is 11 hp - 13 hp at that price. But leave it to Honda to put an automatic tranny on a snow thrower.

BMW and Audi get some avg. to below avg in reliability, but their resale is bulletproof. For those who lease, they are good deals, the high residual makes the payments small. But even BMW's had incentives, on the cheesy SC made Z3, and also on the E38 740i before the new one came out in 2k2 ($7500 rebate, ouch).
