Things will catch up in this community eventually. It took awhile for people start to buy CF hoods and turbo kits. Just think back about 4 years ago, a SC maxima was rare on this board. I remember I could count them with one hand. One good thing about body parts.....eventually people will get rear ended. CF trunk would be a subsitute for the OEM trunk.

I'd be interested in a sunroof insert as well if someone could devise a way to secure it.

it would secure in there like the glass and save 8-10lbs but will never be made because you and me are the only ones who want it.

So the rail would still be there? I'd be totally content doing away with the whole system. Just silicone the thing in and save 30+Ibs at the very top of the car. Plus I could sell the stock parts to someone. Could probably break even if it all fell into place.

I would be interested as long as it functioned the same as the regular sunroof.

Maxima10to1 weighed it all and took pics it was 32lbs.
I wont waste my time trying to get this made it will never happen. When i ready to do this ill send my glass to percy speedglass and have them make a piece out of lexan and ill tint it dark then use window weld to secure it in there. 30 lb savings right there.
