This is an age old question, the future is uncertain, since market is constantly changing. If they were to put a VK45 in the Max, it definitely have to be a RWD since the hp is too much for a FWD to handle the torque steer.

I don't care if the 2k8 Maxima is rwd. I just wish my 95 was.

Nissan should aim there marketing on 28-45 year old age group. Basically it should stop making there Flagship Sedan into a Old people car with little oomph
oh yeah, and 6th gen sales are lagging because the car is butt ugly... they should go back to a 4th gen looking car

It should be RWD with an I6 Turbo. Almost like the RB, only single turbo with 350HP to the ground .

Maybe the engine code could be IS30TB (Inline Stealth 3.0L Turbo Beast)

I'd definately say they have fwd as standard, but have a GSX type (minus the turbo) version and add more power and awd

yea guys... and maybe it'l be a true rear-engine sports car with 400hp+...
its nice to dream guys, but most likely it will just be another reliable family sedan with just a little more gettup than the competition...

btw: somewhere in this thread it says the skyline is coming to our shores in the somewhat near future. anyone heard anything about this?

I'll bet $10 it will be discontinued, it just can't compete in its class. Most would rather get an optioned-out V6 Accord or Camry due to reliability and depreciation. The depreciation issue is what causes Maxima not to be viewed as a "flagship" car.
