my max is toast *pics inside*

soo i got my illuminas & tein s-techs installed last week. the car handled like a dream. i had the illuminas it set on the ever popular 2f/3r setting and gotta say, the ride was bad*ss. here comes the hard part... yesterday as i was leaving work and headed to school, some careless f*ck blew through a red light causing me to slam my brakes, swerve, jump a curb, and hit a big *** sign. the sign i hit was a big *** fancy sign made of re-bar & plaster. my max is f*cked. the other driver of some POS toyota took off like nothing happened. no one got the tag on the other driver's car. this happened right in front of the hotel i work at & i was lucky to have a witness who was another employee of the hotel. as far as i can tell, my fenders, hood, bumper, headlights, axel, wheels, tranny pan, & radiator are damaged. the engine looks untouched. im not sure if there was any frame damage but im gonna wait to see how well it can be repaired before i consider selling the car. another one of my concerns now is im not sure if my insurance is gonna cover my mods... PR CAI, strut bar, teins, illuminas. im sooo p1ssed right now i cant even think straight.

that aint nothing, my car was worse than that, and it came back to life no problem. you should be able to work something out with the body shop. and they do cover those things if you have a receipt. good luck.

sorry to hear about this.

I have nationwide insurance. its a little more expensive than some others but I have what called an OEM replacement clause on my policy and they return the car to original stock when something needs to be replaced. Its brand new OEM equipment they use to fix me up again. OEM parts are typically more expensive than aftermarket parts so either way im in pretty good shape unless i decide to work the ***** out of my engine or get a bulletproof trans(which would be more expensive than OEM).

A few months ago I was ina collision with someone that blew a red light. The moron hit 2 maximas in one shot!!! Well anyways my rim was damaged and I recieved around 330 bucks for an OEM relacement rim. about 500 bucks total for alignment and other stuff i complained about.

In short, you should make sure your insurance co actually does what u think it would do if you were to have a loss, so its there when you need it. SOmetimes the cheapest insurance isnt the best way to go.

LAME!!!

Not to worry tho. If you have FULL coverage ins then anything permanently attached to your car is covered. Hope you save your receipts.

The damage is not bad as you think. They can fix it in no time and I'm sure there not any frame damage. I have seen worse that's beyond repair.

Most likely there is no frame damage since the airbags did not pop. But one thing to worry about is the suspension :-/ The driver side wheel is lodged into the fender. So axle as well as suspension is worrisome.

It's hard to have frame damage if you don't have a frame. Unibody construction does not use frames. The visible damage on his car doesn't look too bad considering what he hit. It's hard to ascertain the hidden damage until it's inspected at the collision repair shop.
