I have hanabi 8000K kit and one of the ballast went dead.
I was wondering if any brand ballast will fit on my kit.

Hey John, they have to have the same type of connectors. Some times you can mix and match ballasts, but it's not reccommended. I have a hanabi ballast, but send me a pic of yours to see if matches mine. If not then I'll try to find you one.

 

1FSTMAX- what does your ballast look like? is there a yellow label? i think "Genaside" is looking for what you have;

mine is the 8000k hanabi/zmax ballast w/a black label...

actually both of them are not mine lol
mine's actually on metal ballast with Z-max black sticker on it.

 

Do they look anything like the pics?

 

It looks like the red one except mine's actually not painted in any color.
just plain metal.

 

what could happen if u mix ballasts?

 

I think you can either blow the bulb, or burn up the ballast.
