I own a 2k2 max and if its been sitting a while occasionally when I start the car it makes and odd sound after i start it. It only lasts like a second and sounds...it's hard to explain. I hate to use this example but it almost sounds as if a screw or something were inside the motor and gets moved around when the car is first started and then goes away. I guess another way to describe it is the sound when someone trys to start the car when its already on. Like I said it only happens once and a while and happens right after you turn the car on. Anyone with any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

-Just in case I use Redline Synthetic and am religious about changing oil, have a K & N air filter and do regular maintenance.

i have the same sound, somebody needs to answer this.. so far i've found this: http://www.motorvate.ca/mvp.php/516 but i'm not sure if it's the same sound

that should fix the noise. just regrease your starter i had the same thing with mine but i had the shop fix it.
