My airbag warning lamp keeps coming back. This time I thought it was back for good since the lamp would not go away for over 2 weeks of resetting the computer. So I really moved the power seats around, recline, back, recline, back, front, back, tilt. Now the lamp is gone again. Sometimes it stays away for months.

my fuel gauge just went dead and didn't read for like 30 secs. (my car had already been idling for a while) and then it just rose up again. it was weird, i've been waiting for it to happen again, but it hasn't.

That reminds me of a similiar problem I had. 2 or 3 times my gas needle has gone all the way down past the light! Dont know why, I had plenty of gas in there.

My auto start stopped working. I fixed it (loose tach wire) and after that the door locks wouldn't work with the transmitter. Kept coming and going. I finally removed the wire harnesses from the SECU and put them back in. Ever since it has been fine.

Also transmission wouldn't get back in overdrive after I turned it off. This was a few thousand miles after I got the car. So long ago....

my strut bearing would make a popping noise every now and then. it doesn't do it anymore. weird. anyway, recently my speedometer would stop working for a couple of miles from a cold start and my motor would come close to stalling when i came to a stop. this led me to believe it was my gforce ECU that bejay sold me years ago. it happened twice. the first time was coming home from a drifting event at englishtown. i drove my max to meet up with my friend who had my S13. i stopped and reset the ecu and everything was fine. the last time it happened was a couple nights ago starting up the car coming home from pat's cheesesteaks, philly. it was idling weird, close to stalling from a stop and the speedo didn't work. i didn't want to stop b/c it was hella late and i was not stopping in the ghetto. anyway, it fixed itself when i got close to front street. if you don't know philly, it was a couple of miles worth of driving. perhaps the engine got warmer.

power steering fluid

Over the course of a month, I lost almost all my power steering fluid; just vanished. I filled it back up and 4 years later haven't lost a drop.

Door Electrical Problems

My passenger side rear door is totally dead. The window and doorlock.....unless the car gets really hot in the sun all day. Then they both work fine!!! WTF!! Everything else in the car works fine, no matter what the temp. Anyone ever had a problem like this before??

A recent one is my CEL light being on since I bought the car, about a month back it turned off on its own and hasn't came back since, for o2 sensor...

I also had the same program as Ant, gas needle would go UNDER E and wouldn't come back on for a while.. Hasn't happend recently anymore.

My sunroof just stopped working on my '03 SE for about two days. Then, when I was trying to explain to my fiance why I'd have to go and spend a couple of hundred at the dealership, it worked again. When in doubt, try explaining it to the wife i guess. Even the car fears her wrath!

Heres a problem I have now thats really getting me angry.. it hasnt happened since winter time and just happened to me again this morning.

When I leave my car over night or during the day stopped for a LONG period of time... say 8 hours or so and the temperature is cold... like last night around 50 degrees or lower... I'll wake up with a dead battery.

It never does it when its warm outside. This morning I went to crank it and I saw the lights dim REALLY REALLY low and the starter barely squeezed enough juice through it to turn the car on.

I've gone through 3 batteries already with the same problem, right now I have a battery thats 1000 CCA's.. its a huge sucker.

I dont know what could be causing this other than something staying on in the car but nothing in the car stays on... Could it be my system? Remote Start?
Oh and the previous owner decided to wire the heated seats to be on ALL the time, I had to remove the fuse or I"ll burn my butt off. I just put it back in since it got chilly this past week.

What the heck is wrong with my car?

When you shut off your car can you hear a slight humming? It almost sounds like your fan is running but it's not. I had the same problem and found out my ABS solenoid was making the ABS motor run while the car was off and it would drain my battery.

I went ahead and pulled the fuse next to the the battery and killed the fuse with wire cutter to the ABS Solenoid till I get it diagnosed and replaced. Something that would drain a battery has to be pulling a lot of amps.

When it's cold it might be the moisture shorting out some unit causing it to remain on.

My SES will occasionally come on for downstream O2 sensors. And then go away.

And then come back on.

It's off now...

WOW I sure hope in the FIVE YEARS since he posted this issue that he has fixed the problem.

Way to revive a super-dead thread!

That whenever it seems to rain, weather heavy or drizzle, when i start my car, it makes a sort of "Whistling" sound for about 10 mins. I cant really tell where the noise is coming from, nor what it is. So about after 10 minutes of driving the car, or letting it sit (tried both) it will go away. Has this happened to anyone else?

my windshield wipers quit working one day, I was leaving the car wash and was just trying to do a quick little run of em' to get the water off, and they wouldn't come on, weird huh? they continued to remain non op for about a month, then today, I was out on the freeway, and I saw it was not looking good. well, it started coming down HARD, frustrated, I angrily toggle about my wiper control stick on the column, I power down my drivers window, proceed to reach out in front of the windshield and jerk and pry on the wiper (just being PO'ed) and amazingly, something broke loose and they just started kickin' in!!! I was a HAPPY CAMPER

Had an intermittant CEL when running a short ram intake and even which the stock airbox and the GAB. Added a longer section of pipe to the short ram to bring the filter behind the headlight and have never had a CEL since. Better lowend too.

power steering fluid

Two years after I bought the car I heard a strange screeching noise while turning and found that all the power steering fluid had disappeared from the reservoir. Filled it back up and haven't lost a drop in the last 8 years.

-unknown coil pack sometimes mis fires. (99SEL)
-o2 sensor light came on, disappeared and hasnt came back.
-Sunroof makes nasty whining noise if i hold the tilt UP button afters its fully engaged, as if the mechanism and tells it to stop pushing isnt working right. Yet sometimes it doesnt make any noise at all and functions normally.

It's prolly a coil pack but I wish I'd throw a code to tell me which one.
lol me too man. Mine just started doing this. Got damn 99SELs . CEL wont tell me which one though and i can't do the unplug-test because it doesnt do it often.

Damn this threads old enough to read itself.
not really a problem that fixed itself but a starter that won't die.
my starter has been grinding very loudly for 3 years now and is still starting right up every time. (yes i did grease it and it did nothing, and one of the mounting bolt holes stripped completely out in the block so i have one bolt holding it on now)

Thread is old, but hey relevent none the less. This happened to me, 08 maxima pioneer D3 was acting up, had to take it out and get it fixed. Radio are was empty for a few days, my trunk would open wiht the remote and with the button on the trunk lid normally, then one day i went to open the trunk (radio still not hooked up) nada, denied, nothing would open it up, remote, trunk lid button nor the button on the driver door. What was interesting was it lasted a few days then one day, YATZEEE!!! it opened, mind you radio still out. has not happened again, radio back in now

Haha now that this thread is up why not share!

2 days ago I have a major starting problem, when I try to start the car nothing would happen, there was no noise, no restart of the startup lights, nothing. Then one jumpstart later it started but when I got home, I turned it off and tried to start it again to see if it was fixed but it wouldn't start and had the same silence. I was just about to call a tow truck to tow it to a mechanic to have the electrical system checked out when I decided to try it one more time. And all of a sudden it started and drove like a dream. So far its been a day around town and every where I go it starts up just like it used to.
