Maxima banged home 31 mpg today

45,000 miles and never been serviced except the routine stuff. Never let Nissan do any of those "minor" or "major" services. Seems like the warm weather and probably the fuel is conducive to improved mileage.
2 OT notes from my trip today:
A dude riding in a Honda Prelude flipped me off today for no reason. Is there some kinda Nissan-envy going on? For no reason and my car is stock.
Noticed Goodyear RS-A on a brand-new BMW 325i. What's up with that? Even BMW saves money by equipping the car with a tire found on Dodge Neon and Pontiac Grand Am? As I said before Hyundai puts Michelin XGT H4s on their cars. Wazzzzup?
some-ah, some-ah, some-ah time......

Same here
I get about 30 MPG on average, but after taking my car to the Nissan Dealer (rarely) my mileage goes down to 26 MPG for a few months. Performance wise, I feel a tad faster after having the car serviced, but that tad does not equal 4 MPG on the average. But in order to keep my car running smooth, I try and do my own maintenance but I need the dealer to check compression and reset the timing. Until I get the tools to do so, I'm a bit dependent.

Frank, I think the flipping off (rudeness) is a typical Houston driver behavior. I get flipped off by minivans, Volvos, you name it. Kevin, I don't quite understand why you would want the dealer to reset the timing. It's controlled by the ecu and you can reset it to default settings by simply disconnecting the battery for a few minutes.
