Not sure what happened..
I was running late for work today. So I was running 110mph down a fairly hilly road, and my car was hit by a pretty hard wind gust.. It pushed me out of my lane and into the grass. I get the car back road bound (90mph) and begin to slow.
I'm hearing a loud rubber on plastic grinding/whinning noise. I stop and go to the passenger driver side wheel well and find the front peice that goes underneath the right side nose/fog light, and front part of the wheel well, has wrapped itself up behind my tire.
Is there a history of these peices falling off during moderate extreme speeds? Or was it the wind gust that did it?
I've now got a large hole in the panel, which I hope won't hurt anything

that thing is held in place with a screw and a pop-thing. so either the screw was missing and/or the pop-thing failed, or max_tl is correct and when you managed to get into the grass, your car dug in or skimmed something and it ripped out.
i seriously doubt it was the high speeds. saving you the typical "why are you going 110" statements, you would have to have been going SO fast that you literally rip a screw out of its threads and pull apart that pop-thing. you must have hit something.

you were going too slow, next time go about 20mph faster, and the guard should hook a little better to your z rated tires and rip completely off, and you can just keep rolling.....

110MPH: I was being silly, trying to get to work on time. No good reason, for sure.
I didnt hit anything, and the grass was wet from rain. I never felt a shake aside from the wind gust. Seems like something bellow just failed. I did notice with closer inspection that the front bumper had been painted. You think its possible some of the screws weren't put back in place?
