when I was sitting at a stop light on my way to work, a passenger in a grand am in the turning lane yelled to me "What year is your max?" I said "1992" Then he said "Do you want to race a stock 1995 maxima SE 5 Speed for a $500 bet?"
The light turned green and I yelled back I am late to work, which I really was. (45 minutes late) I have a 92 SE 5 Speed with a lightened flywheel ,CAI and a greedy exhaust. Should I have raced? I was kind of upsett because I think he was implying that my max was so much slower than his. Man I thought us max owners should stick together. I know I am going to see this kid again because I think he lives in my town.
Thanks Jon

Wouldn't it be funny.....

if he really wasn't STOCK!! IMO, don't race anyone for large amounts of money, chances are they're packing more than you know!

I think that was dumb for dude to try to race you anyway. Tell him to pick on someone his own size.

if he is bone stock and you know that for a fact you should be able to take him, at least to 60 mph anyway, and of course only if you have the 190 Hp engine. I saw a 60 time sheet from somewhere and a 92 SE 5speed with the 190 hp engine ran 7.1 to 60 so the 95 se 5 speed runs 6.6 to sixty with your mods you should be as fast if not a little faster, just be sure he ain't on the bottle

I putting on mods as quick as I can afford them. I seen him around in his max and I and positive it is stock. I just think he was trying to say that my max is slow. Must not be someone that knows about 3rd gen maximas. If I see him, I will race but just for the hell of it, well maybe $10 or maybe like back in the day for title of the car
Plus Today I made a video of my max doing 0-100 and how it sounds with the CAI and Exhaust. As soon as I edit it I will try to post it online if someone can tell me how!!

If you saw me rollin down the street, you would think I was stock too, until you tried to race me. Cops never even look twice at my car... If your going with any large sum of money, make him open his hood and verify before an agreement is made. You never know what he could be hiding in there. Just my $.02

Sounds like that dude has already been getting ideas from the trailer to "The Fast and The Furious". The first part of the trailer this one guys bets $2000 against another guy to race. Its already beginning. Soon, you'll have every little Honda boy at your window making bets with you. Too bad that fellow Max driver had to be pushin bets.
