I haven't been here in a while anyway. I just came back to post a thread that I thought was pretty funny and would be nice contributation.

It isn't overly useful, but if you notice, there aren't many comments in this thread about this being a repost, and after searching, I only found one similar thread dating back to 2002. The same cannot be said about the other.

Being absent is no excuse. Didn't you learn that in school?

Back on topic -

The only real comments I get on my car are in regards to the paint color and if I had an aftermarket paint job.

Except I thought the first one was funny. It did indeed make me laugh. Yours was a waste of space. Acutually, come to think, most of your synical posts are... for example:

please explain to me the organizational benefit of this post, and how it relates to being the most ridiculous/dumb comment you have had about your car. Keep your essay to 100 words or less please.

I'll even go first:
someone claiming a little circuit board (that costs 10 bucks) will add 30+ horsepower to my engine, is one of the dumbest and most ridiculous things I've ever heard.

Your turn.

Law,

Why is asking a question of a moderator worthy of 'vacation'?

I asked him as well, only privately! I enjoyed that thread!

'6th gens ugly as s**t'......right on this very thread.

Cause like what you did, he posted a worthless post in a thread that he deemed useless. As SEmy2k2go stated the last thread that was similar to this was dated back in 2002 while the thread that the other guy started wasn't too long ago and instead of starting a new thread he could have found that thread and bring it back to the top.

Alright back to topic.

The Law,

Your cynicism is refreshing and grown up all at once, not. Your grammar leaves quite a bit to be desired.

Your criticism is lacking common courtesy for others. Your opinion of my post means little to me. As does your opinion of anything Maxima related!

I agree, back on topic!

'but I bet she has a great personality'....again, on this very thread!

LOL - You guys are 30, 32, and older and behaving like kids...

Grow up! You'd think at this point in life we could walk away from the computer if we are angry or simply not post in a thread that doesn't appeal to us. C'mon folks! Let's not bring the .org down with pettiness.

Pay the kids who want to argue no mind.

hey hey now, im what youd consider a kid and would not argue either side of their point, no need to put age into the mix of this. just completely generalize it: anybody that is old enough to post in this thread is old enough to know to walk away and not argue such a ridiculous point. BOTH sides

Twenty years with six Maximas... I've heard more than a few dumbazz questions/comments:
  • Why would you EVER buy a four door with a stick-shift? (numerous times)

  • Too cheap to spring for an automatic? (smartazz uncle)

  • Cruise control??? with a manual transmission???? How does THAT work????? (Dodge salesperson checking out the '87 Max when I picked up my new Intrepid company car)

  • My sister has a GXE... its better than an SE... it's got more letters. (teen on skateboard)

  • Is that one of them "FOUR" "DEE" "ESS" "CEE" cars? (guy in mall parking lot)

  • We can slap a spoiler on this here GXE and it'll be EXACTLY the same as an SE (Nissan salesperson with no SE's in stock. When I asked "What about the wheels, tires, suspension, gauges, fog lights, no chrome, leather steering wheel, Bose stereo etc, etc?", he got a disgusted look on his face and said, "I guess I can't help someone like YOU that THINKS he knows it all.)

  • Is that the new double overhead cam engine? Not sure about them... I heard the singles shift better. (business acquaintance on my then-new '95)

  • Why didn't you get a Honda/Toyota like mine? I love it... its soooo sporty! (numerous times, typically from someone with an appliance grade four cylinder Camry or Accord)

  • Don't park this around here too long... I got some bro's who'd kill for this ride (regarding my black '87 Max with custom wheels and tint, by a black Nissan saleperson while shopping for a '95)

  • Edward's Infiniti is SO much safer than Joey's Nissan (snobby neighbor in 2002 after her college-bound son got a beat '96 I30 that was virtually identical to my college-bound son's immaculate '96 Max)

  • I won't buy another Maxima - they have too much power now. Nissan is stupid... who would ever want that much power? You'll kill yourself! (Regarding the VQ35 Max by a co-worker that had been a two-time VQ30 Maxima owner. What he really meant was that he was too cheap to pop for a Max again. Bought a used 4 cyl. Galant instead)

  • Is that the new 5-speed CVT? (Honda salesperson on '07 SE)

  • I just went to a class on the '07. I can tell you with absolute certainty that you only get one mechanical key with this new system (Nissan salesperson as I stared at the empty slot in one of my '07 Intelligent Key remotes).

  • I'm glad they went with the 16" wheels on the new ones (Nissan salesperson on '07 SE).

  • I really like the new 20" wheels (Nissan mechanic on '07 SE).

  • Nice car, but I think I'll get mine with that long skyroof thing. It'll be worth the extra money... at least the kid's in the back seat can get some fresh air. (Nissan shopper checking out my just prepped '07 at Nissan dealership)

  • You got a big slice of bread to pop in that toaster? (smartazz brother on 6th gen roof)

  • Oh my God, the car talks! (mother-in-law on '87 warning system)

  • Oh my God, the car talks! (mother-in-law on '07 Bluetooth system)

  • I'm not talking to that thing... it's like "My Mother the Car" (for you young'ins, a very bad old TV show where mom was reincarnated as an antique car) (wife on '07 Bluetooth system)

  • There's something wrong with the transmission... it won't shift (leadfoot wife after her first drive in the '07)

By far, the most common comment is "I hear those things are fast!" - The Max has earned a reputation!

That is an arguable statement considering i30s come standard with ABS only...
4th gen IIHS crash test results are nothing to brag about... especially 96

It was more than arguable... it was a ridiculously snobby statement. The cars were absolutely identical, even color. Unless you consider the analog clock a safety factor, or tan leather safer than graphite leather, the SE tire/suspension advantage over their non "t" I30 was the biggest safety difference.

Well duh, haven't you read the stats? Cars with analog clocks and tan leather in their cars have fewer accidents...probably because there's less traffic at mommy and daddy's country club.

BTW, lock this tread now and throw away the keys. I think you just walked away with the dubious honors of most ridiculous comments ever.

Shoot, I must have missed those stats.

smart one

"those lights look so JDM! where'd you get those?!?"

this is after i installed my factory lights after having the custom enterprise red/clears.

and, "altimas are slow."

although this statement is true, i obviously don't own an altima.

Back on topic, I have always been asked about my car. Usually they just ask what kind, sometimes they'll know it's a Nissan. Every once in a while it gets called a Honda by some unknowing person, but usually they'll just ask.
