I'm sorry to report that I just got beaten by a Civic w/ a red Si sticker on the back. And that's all I saw of it.
From an on ramp, he was infront of me and I was never able to past him. I got on his tail but he cut trough traffic and I backed off. In a span of about 1.5 miles tops, before we came up to traffic I saw my speedo reach 120mph. and I tought my gxe had a speed limiter up to 113mph or so. Guess not.

Oh well, I'm off to join Ant's Slow Maxima Club

That doesnt mean you got beat.It just means that he was in front of you and he had the advantage.I bet if you and a Si lined up at a light you would take him out no problem.Plus you dont know what he had under the hood.

Maybe the Si was just really fast

You never know what the other guy had.... smell me?
Plus the Si is a not a slow car out the box in the first place....

That doesn't mean you lost. That means you weren't stupid enough to follow him through traffic.. And him being in front doesn't help either.

Hey Ant, I'll be going to the track on the 11th, hopefully I'll do better than today on the road. Do you think you could make it?

I agree with this 100%. Aside from that you didn't lose jack except a lil gas from driving harder than normal. Not much of a race when a guy is in front of you plus he WOT before you as well. His rice mentality probably makes him believe it was a fair race and that he can beat Maxima's. Go to the track and race one that is the only way you will ever know for sure! Street racing means jack especially when there is nothing to win (in most cases), no way to determine a "false start", half these "street racers" don't even know when to quit when winning or losing and when you don't even know if he is using a baby bottle or not. NA vs NA. NOS vs NOS. If you want to race a NOS car that is up to you as long as you realize.

Thanks for all the moral support, I needed it.
I feel I need to point out that where this went down was tottally clear of other traffic and, there was a wall divider from oncoming traffic. Once we reached hi speeds and creeped on to traffic I slowed down to normal speed.

I will go to the track and I'll try to keep my racing off the roads.

Thanks.

Cool! I highly doubt that stock vs.stock a civic si would be able to take out a 4th gen. Max the VQ just out weighs the civic when it comes to torque.Si is only 160hp and the Maxima I am sure could take it out from a stand still.I have ran with si's on the street they are fast on the take off but on the top end I can come right back in there face.

Kewl, I'll remind you as the day gets closer.

This guy in the Si, was coming from my town. I'll keep an eye out for him and, I'll ask him to join me at the track.

A.

yeah i raced a civic Si type r...we started at about 30 mph and we were side by side for a few seconds and then i started pulling away until about a car length...then all of a sudden he started coming back and took off. i think it was NOS because i dont think he was just playin with me but the car was still pretty fast. The thing was modded out on the outside so i was wondering what he had done under the hood. Does anyone know the stock hp for a type R civic si??

you sure it wasn't an "Encounter of the RICE Kind" .....as far as I know there are no Type R Civs in the states.
