Best Radar Detector ?

What about the Bel 936? I just bought this recently and was wondering how good it was compared to the 8500 or V1. My friend got it for me and told me to use it for 30 days and if i didnt like it i can return it. I was gonna get the 8500 but the Bel was over 100 dollars cheaper. So far it works pretty well.

Well, it was $100 cheaper. I would say that probably tells you what you need to know.

Govurnment,
I guess NJ can't afford to buy a real radar gun. I can
see their strategy as most peeps will ignore X-band except
maybe NJ residents. I on the other probably would get nailed
by them for ignoring X-Band in that state. I'm going to
have to remember that when I ever go through the Garden
State.
MaineI30,
I'm picking at straws now but if you set your radar detector
to ignore X-band. It might be picking up photo radar as
some photo radars are closer to X-band frequencies. Most
are K or KA band frequencies..
Another thing is since all radar detectors uses a
superhetrodyne to pick up all radar frequencies, you may
not be filtering out all of the X-bands frequencies like
you thought. All radar detectors has faults including
V1 and Escorts...

Escort SOLO cordless
He He...on my way to Best Buy to purchase a radar detector, I got a speeding ticket...what awful timing! And I haven't had a ticket in 12 years! And to think I almost went the night before to get my detector.
Oh well, it was $200, and although I've only had it one day, it seems to minimize false alarms. Haven't had it long enough to see it in action, but a friend of mine has one and that's why I decided to get one like it. It is really small, and the cordless idea is great.
Anyone else with the solo cordless have any comments? srm

Got a ticket for 41/25!
It was, of course, eventually dismissed, but that's another story.

The cop had an attitude...new car, dark windows, I think he just saw my car and thought I'd make a good kill. Oh well, 1 in 12 years isn't bad...hope it is my last!!!

Hire a lawyer. That's what I do, and he's good, and it works. I've gotten 6 or 7 tickets in the last couple years, and he's gotten every single one dismissed.
He's DEFINITELY worth the legal fees.
